What D&D character am I?

Most what-kind-of-X-are-you quizzes are superficial jokes. I just found one that seems better constructed than the average, and as an old-time D&D fan I couldn’t resist it. Here’s the paste from my results, with a link:

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Wizard (7th Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength-14
Dexterity-10
Constitution-16
Intelligence-15
Wisdom-14
Charisma-15

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard’s strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

The stats seem pretty accurate on the whole, though I wonder which answers made them underestimate my Intelligence. And I’ve never been about limiting the actions of the truly capable.

And here are my results from another interesting quiz auditing for Asperger’s Syndrome traits:

No surprise there, I already knew I wasn’t an Asperger’s Syndrome case; if anything, my neurological bent resembles subclinical Tourette’s Syndrome. But here I come out as a neurotypical with a balance of intellectual and physical talents, which seems about right.

  1. I hate that I only got a 16 in Wisdom. I’ve always thought of myself as a 17 in wisdom person. I think I need to retake the test!

  2. I’m a neutral elf wizard/sorcerer. I’m sort of mad, because I rarely play elves or casters, and my favored alignment is Chaotic Good. Although in my current 4E campaign, I do have an Eladrin warlord.

As far as Asperger’s goes, my results stretched *way* towards Aspie activity (unremarkable because they rather match the behavioral symptoms of ADHD, which I have), but nothing else unusual to report.

  3. I scored true neutral human wizard. I’ve actually encountered this quiz via StumbleUpon, and I think I scored as a neutral elf wizard. I’ve been reading Bucky Fuller these past few days, and I wonder if that would account for the shift.

On the Aspie quiz, I showed Intellectual and Neurotypical traits, though when I was younger I think I would have leaned more towards Asperger’s. I was, however, diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder as a child. (I suspect that these kinds of diagnoses may be more political than therapeutic. I recommend Michel Foucault’s Madness and Civilization.)

I remember sending you a link to Jung/Myers-Briggs style personality test for programmers, but the page seems to have sadly disappeared.

  4. I appear to be a True Neutral Human Bard/Sorcerer–third level. What annoys me most is that I only came out as third level. The rest is reasonable, though I suspect I’d have scored differently if I had taken the test when in a different mood.

  5. Neutral Good Human Fighter (6th Level)

    Ability Scores:
    Strength- 17
    Dexterity- 17
    Constitution- 16
    Intelligence- 19
    Wisdom- 17
    Charisma- 14

curses. i wanted to be an elven weeezard.

  6. Thanks for the Aspie quiz! I can’t link the picture as it is considered spam by the engine, but Aspie 184, NT 15… did anyone get a worse score?
Fuck, I think I’ll have to find a doctor… quite scary.

  7. >> neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

    > I’ve never been about limiting the actions of the truly capable.

I think that statement was intended in the spirit of the Nietzchean übermench, which you would rightly reject.

  8. Shenpen, I did the quiz as well and didn’t even get a score because “Too many control questions were given contradictory answers”. Now those who understand aspergers will already be laughing, but for those who don’t I’ll explain:

A control question is designed to catch people who try to guess what answer the examiner is looking for.
An asperger suffer is somebody who goes through life trying to guess what answer the other person is looking for…

    Silly quiz…

  9. Lawful Good Human Wizard/Sorcerer (1st/1st Level)

    Ability Scores:
    Strength- 17
    Dexterity- 18
    Constitution- 15
    Intelligence- 17
    Wisdom- 18
    Charisma- 16
