Yes,. there is a good reason that I disappeared for two years. As soon as a certain lawsuit now in court wraps up, I’ll even be able to explain it in detail.
But I’m back to blogging. Starting now.
Sex, software, politics, and firearms. Life's simple pleasures…

Let me be the first (or maybe not the first by now) but let me just say welcome back, sir. In these trying times where Constitutional rights are turning into distant memories, I have missed your social and political commentary. I have to admit that my heart raced a little when my RSS reader popped up with new blog entries from Armed and Dangerous. So many missed opportunities for some solid Libertarian commentary have passed. However, never has the political climate been more ideal for Libertarians to finally get the word out. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about the current political dystopia.
Thank goodness for RSS feeds. Good to see you back!
Agreed. Welcome back!
I was concerned that the Palestinians and their sympathizers had shut you up. Good to see you back – and on such an auspicious day!
The Heller ruling seemed like a good moment to delurk.
Long time, no see.
Good to have one of the more level-headed guys on the Internet back in business.
Seconding silvermine’s comments.
I’ve been a fan for a while and can’t wait to read what you have to write.
Oy, this post was so small I didn’t see it.
YAY!
Hi there!
Somehow, I am not at all surprised that this pulled you out of hiding. :)
welcome back!
(only just noticed…)
Hey, glad to see you’re back! Now I hope the old commenters will come back too.
For the last two years, I’ve checked this site periodically just in hopes you’d return…. And today, Aug 14, 2008, to my great joy, I find that you have!! Wonderful – thank you Eric!!
Very glad to see you back. Now I can stop blogging myself and just watch the fireworks over here.
Has that “certain lawsuit now in court” wrapped up yet? Are you able to describe the situation, and its impact on the FOSS and/or libertarian communities?
Ditto to John Bell. Let me guess… did it have somthing to do with the SCO Group. They will sue anyone running Linux, now that they are losing and bankrupt BSD is next. And all the big companies that use their source code.
Eric, it’s almost a year now. Haven’t you slug it out yet? If you like to explain it, it’ll be a widely-read and interesting thread I guess.
